Biography

Dr. Lee was born in South Korea and immigrated to British Columbia at a young age. He completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours), Medical School, and Ophthalmology Residency at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he served as a co-chief resident and had a special interest in Oculoplastics during his training. He is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Clinical Instructor at UBC.

He teaches UBC medical students and resident doctors and is currently completing a Master of Education in the Health Professions (MEHP) with Johns Hopkins University. He regularly provides outreach care at the Downtown Eastside Eye Clinic for marginalized patients.

He has received multiple awards for his community work and research, including the Constance Dingwall Scholarship in Ophthalmology, Webber Memorial Scholarship in Medicine, Turnbull Memorial Scholarship in Medicine, UBC Wesbrook Scholar and HSBC Emerging Leader Scholarship.

Dr. Lee is dedicated to offering excellent patient-centered care to his community and he welcomes referrals for all eye conditions, including cataract, glaucoma, pterygium and eyelid disorders. He operates at the Vancouver General Hospital Eye Care Centre. He is able to speak English and Korean.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Ashley, son Benjamin, and daughter Evelyn.
